Born in Fort Lauderdale Florida, Anita grew up with the ocean as her playground. Her childhood days were spent outside on the beach or participating in sports. Summers were spent camping and exploring state parks. Her parents instilled in her, a deep love and respect for the great outdoors. In Anita’s spare time she can be found enjoying a preserve, reading, watching a sporting event, or trying out a new recipe. Every day “she tries to learn something new and strives to be the best version of herself” No matter where she is, she is always looking for inspiration for a new project.
Anita draws inspiration for writing in the same way she does photography. Capturing nature. Observing humanity. Pat Conroy has been her biggest influence. The understanding that everyone has a story, is a truth she lives by. Rick Bragg, Fannie Flagg, and David Sedaris are just a few of the many writers she has drawn inspiration from.
At the age of 16, on a trip to Yellowstone National park- she got too close trying to photograph a Moose. She was held captive in a tree for several hours with her camera dangling around her neck. A love affair between animals and the lens became cemented- It remains to this day.
